To Trash Or Not To Trash
I was thinking about what I should post next so I was looking at different ways of art and I started to remember all the cool stuff my Grandpa did for us when we were little. He is an amazing artist and influences me every day. He use to work for Disney along time ago and draws on our Birthday cards with little cartoon drawings still. But he did more then just draw he would turn your every day trash (like a milk carton) in to art by just painting and cutting it to look like a dog or what ever you wanted. He showed me that trash could be more then just trash. Some of his art included welding scrap metal together that he found laying in the back of our barn most likely to never be used, one of those pieces was a 4 foot tall rooster he welded for my mom for her to put in the garden were it still is now. More of his art included pastels, painting, and making giant rocking horses with nothing but old used up wood and other materials. So to end this post I just wanted to say in your eyes is trash just trash or is it something more. I love you Grandpa!

That is cool that your Grandpa worked for Disney. I also find that interesting that some people can look at an item and say its just trash and another person can look at it as a form of art. You just have to be creative and see the posibilities of an item. Like the saying, "One mans trash is another mans treasure" :)
ReplyDeleteI actually had a similar experience recently. My Opa died when I was 10 and he was a painter and we actually have about 7 of his pieces displayed in my house. We were cleaning out my basement and found an array of his sketch books, tons of his paintbrushes and utensils, and even a few unframed portraits. It was awesome looking through his sketches, especially when you could tell which ones were made prior to certain paintings he framed.
