I've always been a big fan of animal art. The unique characteristics and essence of each painting, drawing, and photograph just fascinates me. One artist in particular has always stood out from the rest, and I guess in a way has inspired me to continue drawing animals. The artist Eric Peake specializes in panting parrots using highly detailed transparent watercolor, Peake has exhibited art in prominent galleries in the United States and his native United Kingdom. His success has allowed him to contribute to bird organizations through fundraising and lecturing. He speaks at conferences for international avian groups, and is the founder and organizer of The United Kingdom Parrot Conference. Being a owner and old rescuer before my move to Maryland I've not only saved so many neglected and miss understood parrots lives, but have also had some extremely amazing art subjects. Thanks to the help of Jake (Cockatoo) and Zazu (African Grey) that still live with my family down in Florida, I get to still do what I love best and thats drawing parrots.
